With over 20 years of industry experience, Inertial Labs is a leading designer, integrator, and manufacturer of cutting-edge Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), GPS-Aided Inertial Navigation Systems (INSs), and Attitude & Heading Reference Systems (AHRSs). Our team leverages highly accurate and temperature calibrated MEMS gyroscopes and accelerometers to provide high performing inertial solutions across many applications.

As experts in sensor fusion, Inertial Labs designs and develops quality products at the best price-performance ratio. Our team provides solutions capable of utilizing data from an array of sources including air data computers (ADCs), ToF Mesh-Based Software Defined Radios (SDRs), Visual Odometry, Air Speed Sensors, Odometers, Encoders, and Standalone Magnetic Compasses (SAMCs).

Inertial Labs is a lead developer of exciting technologies. Solutions include Inertial Sensing, Assured Position Navigation and Timing (APNT), GNSS Tracking, LiDAR Scanning, Alternative Navigation (ALTNAV), Visual Navigation, and Programmable Navigation Solutions.

Breve historia

  • 2001: Incorporated as Inertial Labs, Inc. with headquarters in Virginia state, U.S.A.
  • 2002 – 2003: 6DOF and 3DOF Ferrofluid sensors development. First SBIR Phase I Contract with US Army.
  • 2004 – 2005: R&D Contract for Tactical Engagement Simulation Software (TESS) Program.
  • 2006 – 2008: Coriolis Vibratory Gyroscopes (CVG), Quartz Pendulum Accelerometers, and Fluxgate Mag’s development. Release of the first AHRS.
  • 2009 – 2011: Optically Enhanced AHRS and Weapon Orientation Module development. Full Body Motion Capture System release.
  • 2012 – 2013: Release of miniature 3D orientation sensors for $75M Dismounted Soldiers Training Systems (DSTS) Contract.
  • 2014 – 2018: MEMS-based Tactical-grade IMU, AHRS, and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) development and release.
  • 2019 – 2020: LIDAR Payload for 3D mapping and industrial inspections development and release.
  • 2021 – 2022: MEMSENSE acquisition. RMCU and miniature New Tactical and Industrial-grade Inertial Measurement Units (KERNEL IMU) released.
  • 2022: 120 employees; >500 IMUs per week production rate; Near-FOG IMU release; RESEPI SLAM release; new INS for operation in a long-term GNSS-denied environment; FOG & MEMS-based gyrocompass development.
  • 2023: upgraded INS-U GPS-Aided Navigation System; high-precision three-axis accelerometers (TAA); lightweight, low-power Air Data Computer (ADC); Awarded GSA Schedule Contract; receives SBIR Phase III Contract for Revolutionary Cannon Artillery Pointing and Sighting System, CAPSS.
  • 2024 – Present: RESEPI TELEDYNE OPTECH CL-360HD; RESEPI Ouster OS1-64 Rev 7; MEMS TAG-304 three-axis gyroscopes; Software Update for RESEPI’s PCMasterPro in Collaboration with BayesMap, launch new RESEPI GEN-II.
